We’re busy in the Galleries getting ready for the national Museums at Night Festival. On Friday 18th May, 18.00 – 21.00, we will be celebrating all things Yorkshire in the collections. Join us for a glass of wine or two in The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery and the Treasures of the Brotherton for an evening of music, games and creativity.
Could you be the next Museums at Night skittles champion? Take part in a Yorkshire-inspired games tournament and claim your title! If you fancy trying your hand at print-making, The Leeds Print Workshop will be facilitating a drop-in, screen printing activity. Join in and create your own poster inspired by the collections. Love taking a selfie? Grab a prop, pop on a hat and put yourself in the frame to become the star in one of our stunning artworks. Experience rare and unique artefacts, like the beautifully illustrated ‘The Costume of Yorkshire’, and get hands-on with historic maps, manuscripts and photographs.
The soundtrack of the evening will be music made by famous alumni from the University of Leeds, including tracks by bands and artists such as Alt-J, Bastille, Kaiser Chiefs, Corinne Bailey Rae and many more.
There is a small charge of £8.50 for this event, which covers two drinks per person. There will be a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available.
Book now to come along to this special after-hours event!
